This sounds amazing!
The intro melody is very catchy and great build up to :26. However, I think you could've used a better sample for the lead instrument at the start (is it supposed to be a violin?) I say the same for the horn that starts at :26.
Great melodies and layering, you have great compositional skills. The percussion is also done very well to add to the feel of the song. I like the voice instrumentation that starts at :48.
I think the change at 1:11 is too abrupt. Perhaps you could add some sort of sound effect or white-noise-rise to make it more smooth?
I don't like how you fade it out at the end. Something as exciting and catchy as this song shouldn't fade out. You should have a good ending.
Overall, the song is very intense and I really enjoyed listening. Keep it up!

I don't have any good samples and have no intention of paying for better ones, so this song was made entirely from free samples and soundfonts. However, you're right in that I may want to improve the sample quality somehow or another. Some tweaking and remastering may be needed to bring out more from this song.
Speaking of endings and transitions, this song is actually a loop and therefore has no ending. However, I'm not sure what the timing for loops on Newgrounds is (all my attempts to upload loops so far have resulted in the song cutting short), so I uploaded a pre-looped version. That's why it fades out at the end, and also why the transition is so abrupt - the loop point is pretty rough and I need to fix it.

Some constructive criticism:
First of all, I think you could use some better samples. The melody piano sounds seemed too loud and surprising. Also, some notes in the melody seemed a bit off-key, but that may be what you have been going for. I'm not sure if I'd call it sad or tragic, it sounds more dramatic to me.
I think you did a good job by layering the two tracks together - good harmony.

I appreciate the feedback.Thanks!

Great vibe, but the cymbal started annoying me. Good melodies.

Zump responds:

Cool, good to know. Thanks for the review.

Awesome melodies and chords! I think you could've focused more on designing your synths and making it sound 'bigger.' You are very talented in composition but in order to make electronic music you have to be well rounded in various fields of music production. I'm sure you will do great because you are just beginning and your music already sounds good. Keep it up!

Thank you so much for this comment. With this being my second song I made and all I really enjoyed how descriptive and insightful your comment was. I am sill trying to better myself in making my music and I really appreciated this. Thank you!

Great sounds and melodies. Sounds perfect for a menu theme. Chords are very unique, you build up and release the tension well in each phrase. I noticed that starting at 1:54, the lead instrument's attack makes it sound kinda off-beat but you may have been going for that. The percussion sounds like you put it through some type of filter and I really like the sound of it. Keep it up! :)

We are thinking if we are gonna do it as menu music or not and decided that the commenters vote!
Help is still welcome anyways!

Amazing composition skills! It's got a very jazzy vibe to it that I didn't expect with the title 'Dragon Chariots.' I enjoyed listening to it, but I wish it was longer and had more melody.

Chongo responds:

Considering the fact that I intend to one day expand some of my favorite loops into full songs, that wish might just be granted! Thanks for the review :)

Wow, this really relaxing, sounds very nice. Excerpts fit in well. Fun to listen to!

I have to say that I wasn't expecting much when I heard the intro, the samples didn't sound very good, but I really did enjoy listening to this piece. However the bass at 1:15 sounds out of tune, and things start to sound rather discordant until 1:59. Perhaps one of the tracks was in a different key by accident, or you chose some wrong bass notes. You had a good melody, you just need to expand beyond it.

Jahn33 responds:

Thank you for the review. I'm working on another one and i am MUCH more pleased with it than this one. Yes good violin samples are hard to come by for some reason. I did what i could with what i had and the bass was experimental.

I really enjoyed the beginning up until :45, I honestly thought the instrument that came in was kinda annoying, maybe try something different than just quarter notes, or decrease the attack on it. That's honestly just my opinion. Really awesome dub step stuff at 1:31. Great track overall, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Norato responds:

Ok. Thanks a lot for your opinion. :)

So epic! It wasn't repetitive at all, which I think takes a lot of skill. I enjoyed listening to the whole thing, but I think the volume level should have been a little more consistent. The beginning was too quiet compared to the loudest parts in my opinion. Definitely sounds like triumph. Keep it up.

nmarnson responds:

thanks!

I've been messing around with music on and off for a while. My main influences are video game music, rock, electronica, and german death metal. I'm no longer doing commissions, but if you'd like to use one of my songs for something, I'd be glad to talk!
